That Comedy Thing
Safety Protocol
Version March 1st 2026, published March 5th 2026.

What is our Safety Protocol, and why do we have one?
The safety of our guests, staff, and performers is non-negotiable for us.
As That Comedy Thing grows, we have come to understand the importance of establishing clear rules for anyone involved with That Comedy Thing.
Starting March 2026, we have decided to introduce these rules to ensure the safety of everyone present at our shows.
This is not about what is being said on stage by comedians; this is about protecting a safe environment off stage.
Work in Progress
This Safety Protocol is under construction and will likely be subject to change in the coming months as we continue to learn from our guests, artists, and the venues we work with.
If you have any feedback, we invite you to contact us, as we are eager to learn how to make our contribution to the comedy scene safer for everyone involved while protecting the free-spirited environment that stand-up thrives in.
You are currently reading the first version of this protocol, written on March 1st, 2026, and published on March 5th, 2026.
Safety Protocol:
You agree to respect the personal boundaries of performers, guests, staff, and volunteers at all times.
If someone present at the show declines any personal request, you must respect that decision. No means no.
You agree not to touch anyone or invade their personal space without clear consent.
You agree to respect personal boundaries in all off-stage interactions, including conversations, behaviour in the audience area, and any contact within the venue.
We support creative freedom and comedy, but we draw the line where jokes end and hate speech begins. Hate speech, discrimination, or targeted abusive language directed at individuals or groups based on race, skin colour, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, nationality, or similar personal attributes will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the venue.
Aggression (including verbal aggression), harassment, or any form of non-consensual sexually inappropriate behaviour (physical or verbal) may result in removal from the venue and getting banned from our shows in the future.
You agree to follow all instructions from venue staff and organisers. Decisions made by staff regarding safety and conduct are final.
If you have any questions regarding this saftey protocol, please feel free to contact us on info@thatcomedything.com
Thank you for helping out in keeping our Comedy scene safe for everyone involved.
